What’s Happening in Ocean City for Halloween

ANNUAL HALLOWEEN PARADE, Thursday, Oct. 30 starts 7:15 p.m. at 6th and Asbury Ave. and ends at 11th and Asbury. It is presented by the Ocean City Exchange Club in cooperation with the City. Late entries in the costume divisions will be taken starting 6:30 p.m. at 6th and Asbury Ave. There will be bands and floats to complement the many costumed marchers. Bob Blevin, our recently retired police chief, will be grand marshal. Bring canned or dried food to the Parade. Boy Scouts will collect your donations for the Ocean City Food Cupboard. TRICK OR TREAT FAMILY NIGHT will be held Fri., Oct. 31 at the Music Pier, Boardwalk and Moorlyn Terrace from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Candy and refreshments will be served. What’s Happening, Doggies

WHAT’S HAPPENING IN OCEAN CITY Howl about this! The DOG OF THE YEAR will be named on Sun., Oct. 26 at the Port O’ Call, 15th and Boardwalk. The big announcement is scheduled for noon. Twelve local pooches have been holding their doggie breaths anticipating the news. The suspense ends Sunday when one is crowned and trots away with all of the biscuits. The winner was selected by money vote with funds benefiting the Ocean City Dog Park. The announcement will be followed at approximately 12:30 p.m. by a Howl-Oween Costume Contest open to all canines. What’s Happening in Ocean City

Sat., Oct. 18--- The Junior Miss Ocean City Pageant is set for 7:30 p.m. at the Music Pier, Boardwalk and Moorlyn Terrace. Devon Vanderslice, who has been an outstanding Junior Miss, will preside. Performers will include Little Miss Ocean City, Carley Boehning, Miss Ocean City, Molly Lavin and former Junior Miss Ocean Karli Scott. Fifteen young ladies will compete for $4,700 in scholarships and awards. Indian Summer Weekend featuring Mile-Long Block Party

WHAT’S HAPPENING IN OCEAN CITY Oct. 10-13: Indian Summer Weekend featuring Mile-Long Fall Block Party: Ocean City’s Annual Fall Block Party is set for Sat., Oct. 11 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Asbury Ave. from 5th to 14th Sts. Over 400 Crafters will show their handiwork, there will be an array of food, a new car show and public service displays. CITY WIDE YARD SALE, CAR SHOW THIS WEEKEND, BLOCK PARTY IS NEXT

NEWS FLASH: Night In Venice will be held on Saturday, July 25th in 2009 starting 7:30 p.m. YARD SALE: Ocean City’s popular City-Wide Yard Sale organized by Main Street’s Marcia Shallcross is set for Sat., Oct. 4 from 8 a.m. till noon. Homeowners throughout the City participate from both their yards and the Tabernacle grounds, 6th and Asbury Ave. To participate call Marcia at 609-398-4662. The cost to have a 10x10 space at the Tabernacle is $25. You can bring your own tables or rent one for $5. City-wide home owners will have their locations listed on a map for a $5 fee.
