Halloween Parade Tonight! City Trick or Treat on Sunday!

Ocean City's 63rd Annual HALLOWEEN PARADE will be held today, Thursday, Oct. 28 starting 7:15 p.m. at 6th and Asbury Ave. and concluding at 11th and Asbury. The Parade is organized and presented by the Ocean City Exchange Club with Jeff Shirk directing the event. This popular parade attracts a large and enthusiastic crowd to the City. Hundreds compete for best costumes. The Hobo Band and various High School Bands entertain. There are colorful floats, cheerleaders and much more, eight divisions in all. Grand Marshal will be Reily Gunnels, long time Ocean City resident and a member of the 1960 Philadelphia Eagles NFL Championship team. Fire Dept. Open House Today, Martin Z. Mollusk to be Honored

Good things are worth waiting for! The rain postponed Ocean City Fire Department's popular OPEN HOUSE to be held today, Thurs., Oct.21 from 5 to 8 p.m. at 6th and Asbury Ave. Headquarters. This event is geared to all ages. It includes demonstrations, safety tips, face painting, plenty of refreshments (hotdogs, soda, soft pretzels) and photo ops with fire personnel on and off the engines. Be There! Guests include the Ocean City Police Department, U.S. Coast Guard, N.J. State Police, City Beach Patrol, N.J. Division of Fire Safety, Office of Emergency Management and New Jersey Forest Fire Personnel. Field Painted Pink, Jr. Miss OC, Fire Dept. Open House Change

The popular, fun and informative Ocean City Fire Department's OPEN HOUSE date was just changed to Thurs., Oct. 21 from 5 to 8 p.m. at 6th and Asbury Ave. because of the projected inclement weather. There will be fun and information for all of the family including demonstrations and safety tips, hotdogs and soda, soft pretzels, face painting and lots of photo ops with fire personnel on and off the engines. Fall Block Party, Big Fireworks Display on Saturday

Ocean City has developed a series of major fall special events and none is larger than its Indian Summer Weekend Festival, Oct. 9-11th. Centerpiece of the event is the mile-long block party that extends from 5th to 14th Streets along Asbury Ave. on Sat., Oct. 9. Over 400 juried crafters from throughout the east coast participate in the block party that features hand made products ranging from wind chimes and floral decorations to paintings and photography. Show hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. A huge fireworks display is scheduled on Saturday following the block party.
