King and Queen of Plop Welcomes a Busy Fall Season

Ocean City will welcome the fall season with yet another Wacky But Not Tacky Contest, The King and Queen of Plop on Friday, Sept. 2. (Aug. 31) But before we get to that we should report that National Public Radio’s popular Show, “FROM THE TOP,” hosted by famed pianist, Christopher O’Reilly will tape a broadcast with the Ocean City Pops Orchestra, today, 8 p.m. Aug. 31 at the Music Pier, Boardwalk and Moorlyn Terrace. The show is scheduled as a regular feature of the Pops’ summer schedule. Aug. 31: National Public Radio's popular show "From The Top", hosted by famed pianist, Christopher O’Riley, will tape a broadcast with the Ocean City Pops Orchestra 8 p.m., Wed. Aug. 17-19: WEIRD CONTEST WEEK continues with That's The Way The Cookie Crumbles, your opportunity to chew a work of art out of a huge Chocolate Chipper provided by Wards Pastry. The contest begins 11 a.m. at the Music Pier, Boardwalk and Moorlyn Terrace. Entry is free. There are categories for all age groups. Prizes are awarded. Highlight of the morning will be the presentation of the first IMMY Award set for 11 a.m. just before the contest starts. Boardwalk Art Show This Weekend, Baby Parade Aug. 11th

The 49th Annual BOARDWALK ART SHOW is set for Fri. to Sun., Aug. 5-7. Show hours have been extended and are 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Friday and Saturday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday. Arts Center Director, Rosalyn Lifshin says now artists will be able to exhibit in front of thousands of evening visitors. Pottery, handmade furniture and sculpture have been added to the show in addition to oil and acrylics. The exhibit offers visitors an opportunity to purchase outstanding artwork minus gallery commissions.
