Parade, Train Show, Pops Concert, Sing-In This Weekend – By Mark Soifer, Ocean City Publicist

Interesting events continue at this family resort… (Dec. 2)  The City’s Annual CHRISTMAS PARADE featuring Santa and holiday hoopla starts 6 p.m. and goes from 6th to 11thSts. on Asbury Ave. The Hoopla will be provided by the Ocean City High School Band, Pennsport String Band, and floats from Wonderland, Ocean City Home Bank, Sturdy Savings Bank, plus the Highland Youth Performance  Ensemble Color Guard. MissOceanCity, Brenna Carnuccio, Junior Miss Ocean City, Kylie Clearkin and Little Miss Ocean City, Cassidy Diamond will also brighten the event. Following the Parade Santa will pose for photos (bring your camera) in the lobby of Stainton’s Square and give treats to the children. Downtown stores will be open for holiday shopping. (Nov. 25)  Big doings in the downtown on Friday. Ocean City celebrates an OLD FASHIONED Family Christmas from 2 to 5 p.m. There will be free horse and carriage rides, photos with Santa in a Beach Patrol life boat at 9th and Asbury Ave., face painters, carolers and more. The Philly Phanatic will visit from 4 to 5:30 p.m. And yes! Santa will land on the roof of City Hall and descend toAsbury Ave. with the assistance of a City Fire Department hook and ladder truck. (Nov. 19)  Shop early and gobble up the Savings during Downtown Ocean City’s EARLIER THAN THE BIRD Shopping Extravaganza this Saturday along Asbury Avenue. The best deals will be from 7 a.m.till noon. Shop in your pajamas and you may win a turkey if judged one of the best dressed. (Now through Nov. 15) The 10th Annual QUIET FESTIVAL, that has already been featured in AAA Magazine, and on national CBS Radio started yesterday and continues though Nov.15. All events are free. The schedule includes: (Wed. Trail of Two Cities Saturday, Quiet Festival Next

(Nov. 5) The 16th Annual TRAIL OF TWO CITIES race/walk over the 9th St. Causeway is set for Sat., Nov. 5 starting 8 a.m. at the Ocean City Transportation Center. The event begins at 8a.m. and concludes at JFK Park in Somers Point. THE CAUSEWAY WILL BE CLOSED TO VEHICLES FROM 8 A.M. TO 9:30 AM. ON SATURDAY. Runners and walkers may register starting 7 a.m. at the Transportation Center. Cost per runner is $25. Buses will be available at JFK Park to bring participants to start of race from 7 a.m. to 7:30 a.m. Buses will also transport participants back to Ocean City at the conclusion of the race.
