20th First Night Celebration Rings in the New Year in Ocean City – By Mark Soifer, Ocean City Publicist

(Dec. 31) This resort’s 20th Annual First Night Celebration will ring in the New Year in a big way! Activities begin 4 p.m. with opening ceremonies at the Music Pier, Boardwalk and Moorlyn Terrace and conclude with fireworks at midnight. Free Christmas Dinner, Other Events Leading to First Night – By Mark Soifer, Ocean City Publicist

(Christmas Day)  For 22 years, Peaches Lukens and her husband Mike assisted by a group of dedicated volunteers have dedicated their Christmas Day to providing a FREE, home cooked BUFFET DINNER to the South Jersey community. The dinner is held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. by the Christian Community Circleat St. Peter’s United Methodist Church, 8th and Central Ave. in Ocean City. And they make it easy to participate, no matter what your situation.  The Circle provides take outs, deliveries and transportation to and from the dinner if needed. For 20 years now, Ocean City has been providing the best New Year’s Eve entertainment value on the Jersey Shore. FIRST NIGHT offers a selection of 70 entertainment programs from 4 p.m.until midnighton Dec.31 capped by a fireworks display…and all for just $14 a person.
