Ocean City Pops Presents Joy to the World on Saturday

The Ocean City Pops Orchestra presents “JOY TO THE WORLD” on Sat., Dec. 1, a symphonic celebration of the joyous sounds of Christmas. The program will be held in the Hughes Performing Arts Center, 6th and Atlantic Ave. starting 7:30 p.m. Heraldic trumpets, dazzling bells and triumphant choirs join the Pops in this annual holiday tradition. Tenor Cody Austin, 11 year old violinist Joseph Hsai and the Cape Shore Chorale will be featured in the program conducted by William Scheible, the Pops Musical Director. Big Family Event on Friday, OCNJ CARE Continues It’s Vital Work

Ocean City held three special events last weekend. The Trail of Two Cities 5K Race and Walk over the Causeway drew over 600 participants on Saturday. The “Earlier than the Bird “promotion attracted a steady stream of early shoppers and children for fun with Santa in the afternoon. The tribute to Ocean City’s legendary Elvis performer, Ted Prior, drew an appreciative crowd. It’s important that we continue our special events like the Old fashioned Family Christmas Celebration set for Friday beginning 2 p.m. It sends a message to the world that Ocean City is still a vital community. But even more important is the on-going work of OCNJ CARE and its partners in helping residents who have suffered severe hardships in the wake of the brutal storm.  Here are some telling numbers... Read More

Three Events Scheduled for This Weekend in Ocean City

Three events are scheduled for this weekend in Ocean City: The Trail of Two Cities 5K Race/Walk across the Causeway, The Earlier than the Bird Shopping “Extravaganza “ and a Tribute to Ted Prior, Ocean City’s legendary Elvis performer. That we are once again able to hold our events, that people were walking, jogging and cycling on the Boardwalk on Saturday is a good sign. We are gradually returning to normal. But there are still plenty of people in the community in need of assistance. OCNJCARE is a group of community volunteers with partner organizations that continues to help residents obtain the resources they need to recover. Quiet Festival This Week, Vet’s Day Nov. 12, Bridge Race Reset for Nov. 17th

Ocean City’s Annual QUIET FESTIVAL is set for this week starting Wed., Nov. 7th. The Festival kicks off with the Annual Yawn Along Ceremony on City Hall Lawn at noon. The program starts with a performance by the Ocean City Sign Club signing to quiet music. The World’s only Wind Chimes Band and the Yawn Along singers will yawn to the tune of Beautiful Dreamer. And there will be Maple Pod, Pine Cone and Pin Dropping. There will be bubbles, paper airplanes and a Yo Yo demonstration by Doug Jewel l of Air Circus. The program will be dedicated to down town merchants who suffered considerable damage to their stores during the recent storm. They are all working hard to reopen.
