43rd Annual Flower Show This Weekend

When Ocean City initiates a good event, we stick with it! This is true of the Baby Parade- over 100 years, Night In Venice, the Antique Auto Show and Boardwalk Art Show over 50, Martin Z. Mollusk Day, 44, the Block Parties in their mid 30s, the Doo Dah Parade 30, and First Night in its 20s.There are many more. This is just a sample. We are fortunate to have a corps of volunteers who have worked diligently to make these and other events a success. The OCEAN CITY FLOWER SHOW (May 29-31) is an example of how a good idea turned into a durable and appreciated festival. It was suggested by the late James F. Penland, a talented artist and Ocean City business man, who owned and operated the Connoisseur Shops... Read More

Re: Youth Event, Martin Z. Mollusk, Mother’s Day Concert

(May 9) YOUTH EMPOWERMENT: A much needed and serious event follows the exploits of Martin Z. Mollusk this week…. But let’s talk about that first, it’s very important. The Ocean City Housing Authority has organized a public service festival designed to educate youth and help young people of the community. The program honors the memory of Maliha Chowdury, who died tragically last December. It will “give our youth the tools they need to cope and thrive” in these hectic and challenging times and will include educational sessions. All funds will benefit the establishment of a scholarship in Maliha’s name at Ocean City High School. Entry to the event is free. The program is being supported by local businesses and other donations. There will be food for sale on Saturday to help raise... Read More
