Hooters, Temptations and Beach Boys to Play Ocean City this Summer

What's Happening in Ocean City, NJ 1/25/17 Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Thursday (Jan. 26) for the first wave of shows in the 2017 Summer Concert Series on the Ocean City Music Pier. The series will include the Temptations (June 26), the Hooters (July 17 and 18) and the return of the Beach Boys (August 21 and 22). The Hooters will bring back a lot of memories for the folks who caught the Philadelphia-based band’s live shows on the Jersey Shore or listened to WMMR-FM in the 1980s. Ocean City Seeks Contestants for Mr. Mature Pageant

What's Happening in OCEAN CITY, NJ 1/18/17 We’re in the midst of what is statistically (over time) the coldest week of the year for our region. That means summer is coming and no longer going. It’s time to start planning vacations (oceancityvacation.com) and purchasing discounted seasonal beach tags (ocnj.us/beachtags). Ocean City’s calendar of events kicks into high gear on the first weekend of April with two second-year events, Girls Weekend and the OC-Con Comic Convention (April 1-2). This year, the Mr. Mature Pageant will move to the evening of the Doo Dah Parade on April 8 to cap off a day filled with humor and nostalgia. Entries are open for contestants in the pageant. Martin Luther King Day Events in Ocean City

What's Happening in Ocean City, NJ 1/11/17 Ocean City will celebrate the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. at two events this weekend. The DR. MARTIN LUTHER KING JR. CEREMONY starts at 1 p.m. Saturday (Jan. 14) at the Bill and Nancy Hughes Performing Arts Center at Ocean City High School. The DR. MARTIN LUTHER KING JR. DAY OF SERVICE runs from 9 a.m. to noon Monday (Jan. 16) with sign-ups at the Howard S. Stainton Senior Center. Both events embody the spirit of unity and community taught by Dr. King. One highlight of the ceremony is a recitation of Dr. King’s “I Have a Dream” speech by the Rev. Gregory Johnson of Shiloh Baptist Church.
