Christmas Parade, Train Show, Pops Concert This Week

There's plenty going on in Ocean City to keep you in the holiday spirit this week. Santa will make another of his frequent appearances in Ocean City during the Downtown's Annual CHRISTMAS PARADE set for Friday, Dec. 6th, starting 6:30 p.m. Parade route is from 6th to 11th Streets on Asbury Ave. Following the Parade, Santa will be escorted to the Gazebo across from City Hall, 9th and Asbury Avenue. Here, he will greet youngsters, pose for photos and distribute treats. Holiday Fun for Everyone on Friday in the Downtown

Bring the children, bring all of the family to Ocean City's downtown from 2 to 5 p.m. on Friday (Nov. 29) for the annual "Miracle On Asbury Avenue! It's a warm and wonderful Christmas Party dramatically highlighted by Santa's descent from City Hall Roof when the clock strikes five. The downtown and 9th Street entrance to the City are both colorfully decorated for the holiday season. The stores are warmly lighted and there will be lots to see and do. Two holiday special events are set for this weekend in Ocean City: The Second Big Holiday Craft Show at the Music Pier and the “Earlier than the Bird” pre-holiday extravaganza in the downtown from 8 a.m. till noon. First Night Expands Programs on Football Field & Parking Lot

In addition to its usual array of outstanding indoor entertainment, First Night Ocean City has expanded its New Year’s Eve events at Carey Stadium, 6th St. off Boardwalk and the adjacent 5th St. Parking Lot. The new programs will feature everything from the largest ice rink south of Rockefeller Center to “Bouncy,” the world’s tallest snowman, a 30 ft. inflatable. There will also be a Dixie Dragonfly Swing Ride with ten swings that holds up to 20 adults or 30 children, a trackless train ride around the ice rink and an up and down Peanut the Elephant Ride. Quiet Festival This Week. Why Have One?

But still, it’s a good question. We started the Quiet Festival because of the hectic pace of modern life, the noise, confusion, speed and to foster a greater appreciation for natural things like twirling maple pods, the horizon, interesting clouds, bubbles, yawning, the wind and even quiet pets.
