Artisans Return To Ocean City - Sponsor Hobo Band Concert

The Artisans Order of Mutual Protection returns to Ocean City this weekend for the 64th time. The organization will sponsor two free shows.

A concert by the Pitman Hobo Band is set for 7 p.m. at the Music Pier auditorium, Boardwalk and Moorlyn Terrace on Sat., June 13. The Hobo Band marches in many Ocean City Parades. This is a rare opportunity to enjoy them in concert. Their shows are entertaining and humorous.

Following the concert, the Miss Artisan Pageant will be held in the Pier auditorium at approximately 8 p.m. A young lady is selected to represent the Order for the coming year. Both programs are free and open to the public.

The Artisans Order of Mutual Protection was founded 136 years ago to provide insurance for working people. The Artisans have been visiting Ocean City longer than any other group. In addition to providing insurance, the organization supports many charitable causes.

The group's headquarters is located at 8100 Roosevelt Blvd. in Philadelphia.
