Doo Dah - Earth Day Weekend

Fri., April 17: Basset Hound Olympics, 1 p.m., Tabernacle Grounds, 6th and Asbury Ave. Admission free.

Fri., April 17: A program on the benefits of humor by world renowned speakers Dr. Joel Goodman and Margie Ingram of the Humor Project, 7 p.m. at the Henry S. Knight Public Works Building, 12th and Haven Ave. Admission free.

Sat., April 18: Doo Dah Parade starts at noon, 6th and Asbury Ave., goes through the center of town to 12th St., turns to Boardwalk and ends in front of Music Pier on Boardwalk where PieAsco is held. (Folks sit in grandstands and smoosh each other with shaving cream pies.) You’re invited. Bring a towel.

Sat., April 18: Doo Dah Comedy Show and Dessert Buffet starring Bill Dana and professional impersonators of legendary comedians. Show starts 8 p.m. at Music Pier. Tickets $10, available at City Hall Annex, 901 Asbury Ave., on line a www.ocnj.us or at the door.

Sun., April 19: Ocean City Earth Day Celebration, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Bayside Center, 520 Bay Ave., features environmental displays, entertainment and giveaways, admission free. Lots of fun, games and entertainment for the children, Turtle Singer at 11 a.m., Philadelphia Zoo program, 12:45 p.m., story teller Jim Albertson, 2 p.m. plus the world’s only Wind Chimes Band. An awards ceremony is set for noon.

Admission is free. Free parking at Tabernacle, 6th and Asbury Ave. with free transportation to and from Tabernacle grounds after 12 noon. Bring your old cell phones to benefit our troops. Visit www.ocnj.us/earthday.
