Environmental Commission Plans Bay Clean-Up in OC

The Ocean City Environmental Commission is hosting a Bay Clean Up on September 19 at 9 am. The Commission encourages local boaters to help clean up the area of the Back Bay from 9th to 34th Street. Bring your kayak or canoe or if you do not have one, call in advance to reserve a limited supply of kayaks that are available.

Pre-registration is required and registration forms are available at the Music Pier, City Hall, the Knight Building and the Community Center.

Volunteers are asked to meet at the Bayside Center at 9 AM on Saturday, September 19. Work gloves, bags and other supplies will be provided. Life vests must be worn by all participants. Volunteers must be 18 years of age or older. A picnic lunch will be provided after the event at the Bayside Center.

The Back Bay of Ocean City is a popular area for ecotourism with more and more boaters exploring this beautiful area.

The event is being sponsored by the New Jersey Clean Communities Program, the Ocean City Environmental Commission and Bay Cats.
