Mile Long Spring Block Party Set For May 2nd In Ocean City

Ocean City's 30th Annual mile-long Spring Block Party is set for Sat., May 2 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The event extends from 5th to 14th Streets on Asbury Ave. and features 375 crafters, a variety of food, entertainment and a new car show plus public service displays.

Entertainment is from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. along the Avenue. Scheduled to perform are Tidal Wave, the Bubba Mac Blues Band, Tony DeLuca and the Ralph Roberts Trio. Music at City Hall steps, 9th and Asbury Ave., will be provided by the Sunshine Foundation.

There will be free pony rides and face painting at the Tabernacle grounds, 6th and Asbury, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. A new car show is set for 9th St. between West and Asbury Avenues and public service displays will be located on 9th St. between Asbury and Central Aves.

The shuttle bus goes from Bay Ave. to 18th St., stops at the Community Center, 18th and Simpson, then runs on West Ave. from 18th St. to 5th St. The return trip runs along West Ave., stopping when requested, goes to 18th and Bay and back to the Airport and Soccer Field.

There will also be free parking at the Transportation Center in back of McDonalds and at Municipal Parking Lots.

Talented crafters from throughout the East Coast will exhibit and sell their hand made products. Ocean City's unique stores and boutiques will offer sale items.

Downtown merchants will hold sidewalk sales on Sunday, May 3 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Boardwalk merchants will feature table sales Friday through Sunday.
