Renowned Tenor, Ronan Tynan To Sing At Music Pier, Dec. 10th

Acclaimed Irish tenor, Ronan Tynan, will perform a Holiday Concert for the benefit of the Holy Spirit High School Music Department on Thurs., Dec. 10 starting 8 p.m. at the Music Pier auditorium, Boardwalk and Moorlyn Terrace.

In addition to being a world renowned singer, Tynan is a physician specializing in orthopedic sports injury and a popular motivational speaker. When he was just 20, his legs had to be amputated below the knee following an automobile accident. He then went on to win medals in the Paralympics amassing 18 gold medals and 14 world records.

Tynan did not consider formal voice study until he was 33 and well into his residency as a physician. He won both the John McCormack Cup for Tenor Voice and the BBC talent Show “Go For It,” less than one year after he began studying voice.

The versatile singer has delighted audiences with tastes that range from Handel’s Messiah to the lilting strains of Danny Boy. Over 35 million heard him sing Amazing Grace and Ave Maria at Ronald Reagan’s funeral and he is famous for his rendition of God Bless America during the Seventh Inning Stretch at New York Yankee games.

Tynan has sold millions of records scoring on Classical Cross Over, World Album and Contemporary Christian Charts. His career has been well documented with appearances on Good Morning America, Primetime Live, the Hour of Power, the 700 Club and other Network programs.
