The events are set for Monday, June 25, daily through June 29 starting at 11 a.m. This is a program leading into the 4th of July that the late Elsie Gillespie suggested we start. She was president of the Chamber of Commerce and asked us to do something for folks who visit prior to the 4th of July. This contest kicks off the week on Mon., June 25 and is followed by French Fry Sculpting, courtesy of the Promenade, June 26. That’s the Way the Cookie Crumbles is set June 27 (sculpting something out of a huge Ward’s Cookie) plus Super Hero Impersonation for those enamored with Spiderman, etc. On Thursday, June 28, we offer one of our newer contests. You are challenged to create something special out of paper clips. The program’s exciting finale arrives on Friday, June 29 with Xtreme Hermit Crab Wrestling (Extremely non violent). Hermit Crabs are placed upside down on their shells and the first one that turns right side up is the winner. The contests are free and prizes are awarded.
