Quality Regional Craft Shows Now An Ocean City Tradition

Super promoter Norman Schaut sold Atlantique City, the world's largest Arts, Antiques and Collectibles Show, seven years ago when it was at the height of its popularity. To keep active and give back to his beloved community, Norman and his wife, JoAnne, decided to produce a series of quality seasonal craft festivals with all profits donated to local charities. Thirty eight shows and thousands of dollars in donations later, the Schaut’s find they have established a new tradition in this family resort. They have made it a center for quality craft shows on the East Coast. Pet Fashion Show to Help Raise Funds for Humane Society

Our popular Woofin' Paws Pet Fashion show normally attracts over 100 entrants. An array of dogs, cats and miscellaneous creatures, obediently accompanied by their best friends, will compete for ribbons, Sat., April 3 starting 11 a.m. at Carey Stadium, 6th St. off boardwalk. The event kicks off an array of Easter Weekend activities. Woofn’ Paws has always been a fund raiser for the Ocean City Humane Society. It takes on added significance this year as the Society has been working to capacity for months due to the Recession. The facility is completely filled with dogs and cats from owners who can no longer afford to care for them. What’s Happening in Ocean City, NJ

Ocean City's Seventh Annual TALENT SHOW is set for Sat., March 13 starting 6 p.m. at the Music Pier, Boardwalk and Moorlyn Terrace. The event showcases outstanding area talent. Professional performers entertain between competitive categories. These categories include Instrumental, Vocal, Dance, Performance Art and Best of Show. Performers of all ages will participate. Professionals who will be featured but not compete include Elvis performer Ted Prior, Soprano, Nancy Fox, Irish performer, Frank McCall and singer Emily Carr. Admission is $5 with proceeds benefiting outreach programs of the Ocean City Fine Arts League and Ocean City special events. Get in the Mood for Spring with the Air Force Band

It's March! Enough of this winter weather! Let's come out of hibernation and enjoy the UNITED STATES AIR FORCE Jazz Band. They'll be here Saturday, March 6th. The 18 piece ensemble plays the music of the Big Band era, Glenn Miller, Duke Ellington, Count Basie. They also perform contemporary jazz favorites some written by the members of the group. What better way to wipe out the winter blahs than with the warmth and rhythm of this great American music? Tickets to the concert are free.
