WHAT’S HAPPENING IN OCEAN CITY 6/29/21 Fourth of July Events in Ocean City Fireworks will cap off Ocean City’s Fourth of July festivities at 9 p.m. Sunday, July 4. The city is ready to celebrate the return of summer, and the display promises to be spectacular. The fireworks will be launched from a barge in the ocean near the Music Pier and will be best viewed from the beach and boardwalk between Fifth Street and 14th Street. A musical simulcast will be broadcast over the boardwalk PA system and available to stream online at www.ocnj.us. Antique Auto Show and Judy Collins Concert Help Kick Off 2021 Summer Season

What's Happening in Ocean City, NJ 6/23/21 Car lovers can watch more than 300 vintage vehicles parade down the Ocean City Boardwalk at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 26. The procession will cap off the 66th annual Dave Blyler & Herb Godfrey Memorial Antique and Classic Auto Show and Parade. Before the parade, the antique cars – all at least 25 years old – will be on display on the grounds of the Ocean City Tabernacle at 550 Wesley Avenue from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The show offers a great opportunity to shop the downtown or take a break from beach and boardwalk fun to check out these classic cars. WHAT’S HAPPENING IN OCEAN CITY 5/26/21 Ocean City Opens Season With Unlocking of the Ocean and Business Person’s Plunge   In a long-standing Ocean City tradition, city officials will turn a ceremonial wooden key to officially “unlock the ocean” for the season at noon Friday, May 28. The free public event provides an early start to Memorial Day Weekend and welcomes a long-awaited summer.   The “Unlocking of the Ocean” includes a newer tradition: The march of fully clothed business persons into the chilly Atlantic Ocean for the first swim of the summer (to the strains of an Ocean City High School band playing “Pomp and Circumstance”). What's Happening in Ocean City, NJ 5/18/21 A 48-year-old tradition will continue virtually this year as the annual Ocean City Flower Show presented by the Garden Club of Ocean City will highlight floral creations and garden displays via photographs submitted by enthusiasts of all ages and levels. Here is your chance to show off your home gardens and flower arrangements. Individual flowers, container gardening, flower gardens, vegetable gardens, house plants, and door wreaths are all welcome. As long the plants are living, they will be accepted. What's Happening in Ocean City, NJ 5/12/21   Night in Venice will return to Ocean City for the 66th time at 6 p.m. Saturday, July 24, 2021. Registration is now open to all boat and bayfront home owners who want to participate in this year’s celebration.   The optional theme will be “Honoring Our Heroes,” a salute to all those who helped us get through the year. Participants are also encouraged to use last year’s planned “Olympics” theme. A fireworks display will light up the bay and cap off the festivities.   The boat parade and decorated bayfront home contest provide a chance to be part of the highlight of the summer season in Ocean City. Easter Bunny to Tour Ocean City on Saturday

The Ocean City Fire Department will help the Easter Bunny greet children throughout Ocean City on Saturday, April 3. The Easter Bunny will ride atop a fire engine leaving from the station at Sixth Street and Asbury Avenue at about 10 a.m. and finishing at City Hall on Asbury Avenue at about 12:30 p.m.   Anybody can see his planned route through town by clicking here. Families can track his progress in real time by downloading the official Ocean City Vacation app (look for the blue OCNJ icon). NJ Health Benefits Premium Tax – Urgent Action Needed!

Businesses in New Jersey could face higher health insurance premiums under legislation introduced July 6 that would impose a new state tax on fully insured health insurance premiums. Ocean City Regional Chamber of Commerce opposes the bill.   S-2676 (Vitale, D-19) / A-4389 (McKeon, D-27), would impose a new 2.75% state excise tax on fully insured health insurance premiums for health benefits plans, MEWAs and dental and vision coverage. The bill is similar to a health insurance tax Gov. Phil Murphy proposed in his original FY 2021 budget proposal, which he put forth before the pandemic began in the U.S.   Ocean City Regional Chamber of Commerce opposes the bill because it will increase healthcare costs for employers who have been struggling for years to continue to provide healthcare coverage to their employees despite... Read More

What's Happening in Ocean City, NJ 2/26/2020 Registration Open for Participating Boats and HomesPlans for the 66th annual edition of Ocean City’s premier summer event, Night in Venice, are in the works, and registration for participating boats and waterfront homes is now open. The parade this year starts at 6 p.m. on Saturday, July 18, 2020. This year’s theme – “The Olympics: Go for the Gold” – will be a nod to the Olympic Games. The theme is entirely optional but offers a chance to pay tribute to more than 120 years of competition among athletes from more than 200 nations. What's Happening in Ocean City, NJ 1/22/2020 Registration Now Open for Participants in Both Events Barry Williams, who starred as Greg Brady in the classic sitcom “The Brady Bunch,” will be grand marshal of the 2020 Doo Dah Parade in Ocean City on April 18 and return that night to emcee the Mr. Mature America Pageant. Williams began his acting career at age 11 and appeared in shows such as “Dragnet,” “Gomer Pyle,” “The Mod Squad” and “Mission Impossible” before landing his iconic role as America’s most reliable big brother in “The Brady Bunch.” He performed in the title role of the Broadway musical “Pippin” and has appeared in more than 85 other musical theater productions.
