‘Smash’ and ‘Wicked’ Star to Open 2018 Ocean City Pops Season

Farmers Market and Wacky Wednesdays start on June 27

Tickets are on sale now for the season-opening performance of the Ocean City Pops featuring Megan Hilty. The show is at 7:30 p.m. July 2 at the Ocean City Music Pier.

Hilty is famous for her portrayal of Ivy Lynn in NBC’s musical drama “Smash.” A native of Seattle, Hilty moved to New York City after graduating from Carnegie Mellon University and quickly made her Broadway debut as Glinda in “Wicked.”  She went on to perform the role in both the national tour and in Los Angeles. She followed up the series with a starring role on the NBC comedy “Sean Saves the World.”

What's Happening in Ocean City, NJ 5/2/18 The early weather forecast looks sunny for Ocean City’s Spring Block Party on Saturday. That’s always good news for the premier spring event, which features more than 350 crafters, food vendors, musicians and kids’ activities stretched out over a mile of downtown Asbury Avenue between Fifth Street and 14th Street. The block party runs rain or shine from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. May 5. More than 100 downtown stores will be open for business and have table sales out front.
