NJ Health Benefits Premium Tax – Urgent Action Needed!

Businesses in New Jersey could face higher health insurance premiums under legislation introduced July 6 that would impose a new state tax on fully insured health insurance premiums. Ocean City Regional Chamber of Commerce opposes the bill.   S-2676 (Vitale, D-19) / A-4389 (McKeon, D-27), would impose a new 2.75% state excise tax on fully insured health insurance premiums for health benefits plans, MEWAs and dental and vision coverage. The bill is similar to a health insurance tax Gov. New for 2020, the Chamber has developed an Ocean City Scavenger Hunt to encourage people to explore the island and discover new places, all while maintaining a safe social distance from others and wearing a mask. “This new fun family oriented scavenger hunt will have people racing to solve the clue and post on social media, to win fun Ocean City, NJ prizes”, says Michele Gillian, Executive Director of Ocean City Regional Chamber of Commerce “We are making it as contactless as possible”. What's Happening in Ocean City, NJ 2/26/2020 Registration Open for Participating Boats and HomesPlans for the 66th annual edition of Ocean City’s premier summer event, Night in Venice, are in the works, and registration for participating boats and waterfront homes is now open. The parade this year starts at 6 p.m. on Saturday, July 18, 2020. This year’s theme – “The Olympics: Go for the Gold” – will be a nod to the Olympic Games. The theme is entirely optional but offers a chance to pay tribute to more than 120 years of competition among athletes from more than 200 nations.
