Ocean City Pops Continues Sizzling Summer 2019 Season

What's Happening in Ocean City, NJ 8/21/19 Special Guests Include Cheyenne Jackson, former Miss America, and LaKisha Jones
Now in its 91st season, the Ocean City Pops is mixing it up with a wide variety of musical talents this summer. The local orchestra performs twice-weekly at the historic Ocean City Music Pier, and the remainder of the 2019 season promises something for everybody.
Tickets are on sale now for the following shows:
  • Cheyenne Jackson (August 21):The Grammy-nominated Cheyenne Jackson is a multi-talented actor, singer and songwriter. He was most recently seen in FX's "American Horror Story: Apocalypse" and Disney's "Descendants 3." A veteran of the theater, he has performed in "The Most Happy Fella," "The Performers," "Finian's Rainbow," "Xanadu," "All Shook Up," "Aida" and "Thoroughly Modern Millie." Tickets are $35 to $40.

Congratulations to our new Miss Ocean City, 17-year-old Ocean City High School senior Mary Grace Jamison, who was crowned Saturday on the Ocean City Music Pier. Another week of pageantry in Ocean City includes the Miss Crustacean Beauty Pageant on Wednesday, the Little Miss Ocean City Pageant on Friday and the Junior Miss Ocean City Pageant on Saturday.
The original beauty contest for crustaceans returns as an evening event this year. In an annual tradition, Ocean City celebrates the beauty of hermit crabs with contestants vying for the coveted Cucumber Rind Cup. Sky Brown to Lead 110th Annual Ocean City Baby Parade

What's Happening in Ocean City, NJ 8/719 Tickets Available for Special Meet-and-Greets With the Skateboarding Star
The Ocean City Baby Parade returns to the Boardwalk for the 110th time at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, August 8, 2019.
The annual tradition offers a chance for parents to show off Ocean City's newest generation. The parade features children (ages 10 and under) cruising the Ocean City Boardwalk in themed strollers, wagons and floats. It starts at Sixth Street with children finishing at the Music Pier (at Moorlyn Terrace) and all other entries continuing to 14th Street.
Participants can sign up at the Welcome Center on the ground floor of City Hall at Ninth Street and Asbury Avenue. Entry fee is $5 per child.

Boardwalk Art Show and Art of Surfing Festival in O.C.

The celebration of the arts will include a newer event – the Art of Surfing Festival – Thursday to Saturday (August 1 to 3) at the Ocean City Music Pier. Surf Fest Coming Up This Week

What's Happening in Ocean City, NJ 7/17/19 The 16th annual Chip Miller Surf Fest will bring a day of fun to Ocean City (July 19) and benefit a good cause. The event was created in 2004 in memory of Chip Miller, who proudly raised his family in Ocean City. Miller was known worldwide for his passion for Corvettes and his resilient positive attitude. In 2003, he was diagnosed with a rare disease called Amyloidosis, which occurs when abnormal protein, called amyloid, builds up in one or more organs causing malfunction. Just a few short months after diagnosis, the world lost an incredibly special person. Proceeds from the event will help to prevent this from happening to others. What's Happening in Ocean City, NJ 7/3/19 The Holiday Week Includes a Full Schedule of Events Ocean City’s Independence Day celebration will take place on Thursday, July 4, and include bike parades, music, family contests and fireworks to cap off the summer holiday. The fireworks will be launched from a barge in the ocean near the Music Pier at 9 p.m. and will be best viewed from the beach and boardwalk between Fifth Street and 14th Street. The fun starts with two bike parades at opposite ends of the island. Everybody is invited to participate, and thousands usually do.
