NEWS FLASH: Night In Venice will be held on Saturday, July 25th in 2009 starting 7:30 p.m. YARD SALE: Ocean City’s popular City-Wide Yard Sale organized by Main Street’s Marcia Shallcross is set for Sat., Oct. 4 from 8 a.m. till noon. Homeowners throughout the City participate from both their yards and the Tabernacle grounds, 6th and Asbury Ave. To participate call Marcia at 609-398-4662. The cost to have a 10x10 space at the Tabernacle is $25. You can bring your own tables or rent one for $5. City-wide home owners will have their locations listed on a map for a $5 fee. Over 7000 Cyclists Roll into Town for MS Bike Tour

Over 7000 bikers will pedal into town on Saturday to raise money for research and people who have Multiple Sclerosis. This is the largest turnout ever for the event started 28 years ago following a meeting by organizers in Ocean City. Registrations have been cut off for the first time to ensure that all bikers are properly accommodated. This weekend’s gigantic tour is expected to raise $4.5 million for the society that makes life easier for 11,000 people with Multiple Sclerosis in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. The tour was organized by former TV anchor and author, Larry Kane, whose mother died from the disease. Kane met with City officials at the Plymouth Inn to work out details of the tour. Second Air Show, 400 Corvettes Set for this Weekend

What a great air show last Sunday. But there’s more to come! The popular, annual AIR FESTIVAL at the Ocean City Airport, 26th and Bay Ave., is set for Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Then the next day, Sun., Sept. 21, over 400 CORVETTES will roll into Ocean City for one of the largest shows of its kind in the country. But first, the AIR SHOW: The Airport grounds will be packed with unusual airplanes. A variety of antiques, World War II planes, Ultralights, Homebuilts, Classics and Warbirds will be parked for inspection and judged for prizes. Admission is free. Ocean City is fortunate to have two AIR SHOWS this month. The first will be a dazzling AEROBATICS demonstration on Sun. (Sept.14) from 1 to 3 p.m. The second is the Airport Association’s annual Air Festival set for Sat., Sept. 20 at the municipal airport. These are both outstanding events and well worth your time and support. This week we’ll concentrate on the City’s first ever air show featuring world famous stunt pilots plus parachutists and a Coast Guard Rescue demonstration. Street Rods Roll Into Town, Two Air Shows Set

The STREET RODDERS roll into town this weekend. An array of colorful vehicles from throughout the East Coast will be displayed on the Boardwalk and at the 5th Street Parking Lot during the 34th Annual Shore Rod Run. Cars will be parked at the Sports and Civic Center parking lot from noon Fri., Sept. 5 till noon Sun., Sept.7. There will be a boardwalk display of vehicles on Sat., Sept. 6 from noon till 4 p.m. A street rod is any car manufactured prior to 1964 that’s been modified with more modern parts. Owners are creative about how they enhance their vehicles and often decorate with colorful, painted designs.
