What’s Happening in Ocean City

Sat., Oct. 18— The Junior Miss Ocean City Pageant is set for 7:30 p.m. at the Music Pier, Boardwalk and Moorlyn Terrace. Devon Vanderslice, who has been an outstanding Junior Miss, will preside. Performers will include Little Miss Ocean City, Carley Boehning, Miss Ocean City, Molly Lavin and former Junior Miss Ocean Karli Scott. Fifteen young ladies will compete for $4,700 in scholarships and awards. Tickets are $10, available at City Hall Annex, 901 Asbury Ave., 525-9300 or at the Music Pier Box Office the evening of the Pageant.

Sat.-Sun. Oct. 18-19 — Free Hayrides and Trick or Treat on the Boardwalk from 8th to 12th Sts., noon till 4 p.m.

Sun., Oct. 19— The Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk starts10 a.m. at 6th and Boardwalk. This is a non competitive walk to raise awareness and dollars to fight breast cancer. Survivors are encouraged to register early and gather at the staging area at 9:40 a.m. for a recognition lap prior to kick-off. DATE CHANGE: Donna Oakley, founder of the only canine bloodmobile, has changed the date of her speaking appearance at the Humane Society to Mon., Oct. 20 at 7 p.m. A canine blood bank is set for Tues., Oct. 28 from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Humane Society, 1 Shelter Rd., off Bay and Tennessee Aves.
